From Design & Sales to Smart Homes—and Now AI-Powered Living
My career didn’t start in smart homes—it started in design, marketing, and residential sales. For years, I focused on understanding people: what they value, how they make decisions, and how to communicate solutions that truly fit their lives. That foundation still drives everything I do today.
Over time, my path evolved into marketing and sales within residential energy savings. That shift opened the door to something much bigger than just selling upgrades—it became about helping homeowners completely rethink how their homes function. Not just in terms of comfort, but efficiency, intelligence, and long-term sustainability.
Helping Homeowners Make Smarter Energy Decisions
I’ve worked closely with homeowners to achieve real energy savings through thoughtful, strategic upgrades—starting with one of the biggest drivers of efficiency: HVAC.
I guide customers through choosing between single-stage, dual-stage, and variable-speed systems, as well as modern heat pumps. Each option has its place depending on the home, usage patterns, and budget. From proper system sizing to ducting and register upgrades, I focus on making sure every installation is optimized—not just installed.
I’ve worked with top-tier brands like Lennox, Carrier, and Daikin, helping homeowners compare performance, reliability, and long-term value. Whether it’s a single-story home or a two-story layout, I’ve helped customers evaluate conventional systems versus ductless mini-splits—and even determine ideal placement, whether in the attic or garage.
Whole-Home Efficiency: The Bigger Picture
Energy efficiency doesn’t come from one upgrade—it comes from how everything works together.
I’ve helped homeowners improve attic insulation to R-30 and R-60 (typically 10–20 inches), dramatically reducing heat gain in summer and heat loss in winter.
Window upgrades are another major factor. I’ve guided homeowners through vinyl and high-efficiency options, comparing materials like vinyl and Fibrex, and features like double vs. triple pane glass, low-E coatings, and ENERGY STAR® ratings. These upgrades can reduce energy bills by 7–13%.
Roofing plays a critical role as well. From cool roof systems to improved ventilation using balanced soffit-to-ridge airflow and radiant barriers, these upgrades help regulate temperature and protect the home long-term.
Expanding Into Solar, Storage & Smart Energy
As the industry evolved, so did my focus. I moved deeper into solar, energy storage, EV charging, and integrated smart home systems.
Helping homeowners reduce—or even eliminate—their electric bills through solar and battery storage has been incredibly rewarding. But today, it’s not just about generating energy—it’s about managing it intelligently.
That’s where Smart Home Energy Management Systems (SHEMS) come in.
Smart Homes Meet Intelligent Automation
Modern homes are becoming connected ecosystems designed to optimize energy use automatically.
Solar + Storage Systems
I design systems with a focus on proper sizing, high efficiency, low degradation, and strong warranties. Leading solar brands include Maxeon, REC, and SEG. For storage, batteries like Tesla Powerwall 3, Enphase, and NeoVolta provide advanced capabilities such as app control, inverter integration, rate arbitrage, and backup power.
Smart Panels
WiFi-enabled smart panels from brands like SPAN, Lumin, and Savant allow homeowners to monitor and control circuits in real time—bringing unprecedented visibility and control over energy usage.
HVAC + Smart Integration
High-efficiency HVAC systems—single, dual, variable speed, and heat pumps—paired with smart thermostats like Google Nest, Ecobee, and Honeywell deliver precision comfort while minimizing waste.
Water Heating
From traditional 40-gallon tanks to tankless systems, brands like Rheem, Bradford White, and Navien provide reliable, energy-efficient options.
Roofing, Insulation & Windows
Cool roofing systems (Owens Corning), upgraded insulation, and ENERGY STAR® windows all work together to reduce overall energy demand—making every other system more effective.
The Next Evolution: AI-Powered Smart Homes & Business Tools
As powerful as smart home technology is today, the real game-changer is artificial intelligence.
I’ve expanded my expertise into agentic AI, advanced prompting, and chatbot development, bringing a new layer of intelligence to both homes and businesses.
On the residential side, AI enhances smart home systems by:
- Learning energy usage patterns
- Automating decisions based on utility rates and behavior
- Optimizing solar storage and consumption
- Delivering real-time insights and recommendations
But beyond the home, I now help business owners integrate AI into their digital presence.
I design and deploy:
- AI-powered chatbots for websites
- Automated scheduling systems that book calls instantly
- Smart notification and follow-up systems
- AI-driven content creation tools for marketing and outreach
These tools don’t just improve efficiency—they transform how businesses engage with customers, capture leads, and scale operations.
Bringing It All Together
What started as a career in design and sales has evolved into something much more dynamic—bridging the gap between home performance, smart technology, and AI-driven automation.
Today, I help:
- Homeowners build energy-efficient, intelligent living spaces
- Businesses upgrade their digital infrastructure with AI tools
- Both leverage technology to save time, reduce costs, and operate smarter
This is where smart homes, energy independence, and AI innovation all come together.
